Iranian movie ‘Underwater Cypress’ has been selected to go on screen at the 40th edition of the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.
The synopsis of the film reads “Will Jahanbakhsh Keramat’s secret be disclosed? If revealed, it will make Chista, Mahrou, Goudarz, Bahram, Jahangir and Major Poushyas restless.
To prove his innocence and find peace, Jahanbakhsh starts a long journey; a journey that changes the life of all these people”.
Directed by Mohammad-Ali Bashe-Ahangar, notable among the film stars are Babak Hamidiyan, Massoud Rayegan, Reza Behboudi, Mina Sadati, Houman Barqnavard, Setareh Eskandari, and Shahram Haqiqatdoust.
The Durban festival which has been held since 1979 is the oldest and biggest film festival in Durban city, South Africa.
The 40th edition of the festival is slated for July 18-28, 2019.
